gHCS - GNU Home Control System

Project Information

About this project:

This is the gHCS project ("ghcs"). It is a Home Control System based on Steve Ciarcia's HCS II (Z180 based SC and remote comm-links). This project will bring the project more up to date by using newer, less expensive, more available, technologies (Linux & the Arduinos for instance). The principle is the same a simple if/then/else language for manipulating and monitoring remote resources connected to the comm-links. The remotes allow for control and monitoring of various types of I/O and sensors. The Linux based SC should allow full access to the tools, languages, system and internet resources available to Linux.

The code for the project is Open Source (and Open Source like licenses for the hardware designs). The basic principle is to use what is available and allow anyone from a first time user to a seasoned professional access to the technology.
